Root Mash Recipe
Delicious creamy root mash made with potatoes, carrots, and turnips.
Inspired by Alias Grace and Nightwoods
Prep Time: 15 minutes Cook Time: 20 minutes Serves: 6

Ingredients
- 3 lbs mixed root vegetables, peeled & cut into chunks (potatoes, carrots, and turnips)
- 1 tablespoon salt
- 1/4 cup warm cream
- 1/4 cup butter
- Salt and pepper, to taste
Instructions
- Place the root vegetables in large saucepan and cover with cold water. Add 1 tablespoon of salt and bring to a boil.
- Cook until root vegetables can be pierced with a sharp knife, about 12 to 20 minutes.
- Drain well and return to pot.
- Add milk, butter, salt, and pepper and mash together.
