Bourbon Sweet Potatoes Recipe
These sweet potatoes have just a hint of sweet bourbon flavor.
Inspired by The Help and Blue Christmas
Prep time: 20 minutes Cook time: 50 minutes Serves: 6
Ingredients
- 5 large sweet potatoes
- ½ cup butter
- ½ cup bourbon
- ½ cup white sugar
- ½ cup brown sugar
- ½ tsp vanilla
Instructions
- Preheat oven to 350 degrees.
- Peel and slice the sweet potatoes and layer in a 9 x 13 baking dish.
- In a large saucepan, combine the butter, bourbon, sugars and vanilla. Heat to a boil stirring frequently. Pour over the sweet potatoes.
- Bake 45 to 50 minutes until tender, turning the sweet potatoes after 20 minutes.
