Buttery Biscuits Recipe

These biscuits are firm on the outside with a soft center. They are best served with soup or chili.

Prep:  20 minutes | Cook:  15 minutes | Serves:  8

biscuit recipes

  • 2 cups all-purpose flour
  • 3 teaspoons baking powder
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 1 teaspoon salt
  • 1/4 cup of butter
  • 2/3 cup of milk

  1. In a large bowl, mix the flour, baking powder, sugar and salt.
  2. Cut in butter until mixture is in soft crumbles.
  3. Add milk and mix well with spoon or knead briefly with your hands.
  4. Roll out and then cut biscuits with cookie cutter of desired size.   I normally cut a smaller biscuit since I serve this recipe with soup or chili. They fit nicely into bowls this way.
  5. Bake at 450 for 10-12 minutes.
