Pecan Tassies Recipe

A tassie is a small tart or miniature pie. These tassies call for a pecan pie mixture that will have your taste buds singing.

Prep: 20 minutes | Dough Chill: 1 hour | Cook: 15-18 minutes | Serves: 10

  • 2 cups butter, room temperature
  • 4 8-ounce packages cream cheese, room temperature
  • 4 cups flour
  • 2 eggs
  • 1 3/4 cups packed brown sugar
  • 2 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • Pinch of salt
  • 1 cup chopped pecans

  1. Preheat the oven to 325 degrees F.
  2. In a medium mixing bowl, combine together the margarine and cream cheese until well blended. Beat in flour, 1 cup at a time, until the mixture forms a smooth dough. Cover and refrigerate dough for 1 hour. Roll dough into small balls, and press into the bottoms and sides of mini muffin pans.
  3. In another bowl, mix together the eggs, brown sugar, butter, vanilla, and salt. Stir in the pecans. Use a spoon to fill each of the crusts 2/3 full with the filling mixture.
  4. Bake for 15 to 18 minutes in the preheated oven, until shell is light brown, and the filling has puffed up. Cool, and carefully remove from pans.
