Cake Ball Recipe

Here is a basic recipe for cake balls. Cake balls are so fun to make and the variety of flavors are endless.

  • Cake
  • Icing
  • Chocolate bark

  1. Bake the cake according to directions and allow to cool. Crumble it into a large bowl. Add the icing, the amount depending on how moist you like your cake ball (usually about 1 container of store bought or 2 cups of homemade icing). Mix thoroughly. Freeze for 15 minutes.
  2. With your hands, spoon or melon baller, form the cake/frosting mixture into a ball. You may need to refreeze the dough if it starts to crumble while you work with it.
  3. Place on a cookie sheet and freeze for several hours.
  4. Melt the chocolate bark according to package instructions. Dip the cake ball into the chocolate bark using a toothpick or by placing it on a spoon. Place on wax paper and allow to set.
