Black and White Mini Apples Recipe

These mini chocolate chip apples make quite an impression at a party and everyone loves them!

Preparation: 20 minutes | Chill: 2 hours | Yield: depends on size of apples and melon baller

  • 4 granny smith apples
  • 12 ounce bag of semi-sweet chocolate chips
  • 6 ounce bag of white chocolate chips
  • cake ball sticks

  1. Scoop out mini apple balls from each apple with a melon baller. You will need to spin the melon baller to form the the mini apple balls. They will be somewhat flat on the skin side and more rounded on the other side.
  2. Insert a cake ball stick into the center of each mini apple.
  3. Melt your semi-sweet chocolate according to package directions. Dip and swirl each mini apple ball into the chocolate. Shake off the excess chocolate and place on a parchment-lined baking sheet, with the cake pop stick pointing up.  Complete process for all apple balls.
  4. Place in refrigerator for 20 minutes to set the chocolate.
  5. After chocolate hardens, melt the white chocolate according to package directions. Pick up a mini apple by the cake pop stick and drizzle the melted white chocolate over the apple using a small spoon. Return each apple to the parchment-lined sheet (stick pointing up) and allow white chocolate to harden before serving. Store in refrigerator until ready to serve.
