Korean Sesame Beef Stir Fry Recipe



This Korean beef stir fry recipe is delicious and quick and easy to prepare. The beef is cut into very thin strips, seared over high heat with bean sprouts and spinach, and seasoned with garlic, jalapeno, ginger, cilantro, and toasted sesame seeds.

Korean Recipes

Ingredients

  • 1/4 cup soy sauce
  • 1 tablespoon rice vinegar
  • 1 tablespoon corn starch
  • 1 teaspoon sugar
  • 2 round steaks, trimmed and sliced very thin against the grain
  • 1 tablespoon garlic, chopped
  • 2 jalapeno peppers, seeded and finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon fresh ginger, grated
  • 3 cups fresh bean sprouts, or 2 14.4-ounce cans of bean sprouts, drained
  • 1 pound baby spinach
  • 1/2 cup chopped fresh cilantro
  • 1 tablespoon sesame oil
  • 1/4 cup sesame seeds, toasted*

Instructions

  1. Whisk together the soy sauce, rice vinegar, corn starch and sugar. Set this aside with the remaining ingredients, prepared as required above, and set out before beginning the cooking process.
  2. Heat oil in a large wok or skillet over high-heat. Add round steak and allow to cook for 1 minute. Stir in garlic, jalapeno, and ginger. Cook for about 30 seconds. Add bean sprouts and spinach. Pour soy sauce mixture into the pan and stir gently until the sauce thickens and the spinach is wilted, about 3 minutes. Stir in cilantro, sesame oil, and toasted sesame seeds.

*Toasting Sesame Seeds: Add sesame seeds to a small skillet over medium high heat. Stir or shake pan until sesame seeds are golden brown about 2 to 3 minutes. Serve with Spicy Ramen Noodles.
