It’s Monday! What Are You Reading?

Book Journey It’s Monday! What Are You Reading? is a weekly meme hosted by Sheila at Book Journey.

To let others know what you are reading and to see what others are reading, head over to her site.

I am in the middle of The Winter Sea, which I am loving, but I had to put it aside to start The Night Circus…the temptation was just too strong to ignore anymore.

The Winter Sea is a historical fiction novel about an author with writer’s block who begins to write profusely when she travels to the Scottish coast.  The words of the characters come to her in her dreams and as she does research for her book, she finds that what the voices are telling her actually happened 300 years ago.

The Night Circus tells the story of a competition between two illusionists who are part of a mysterious night circus.   This competition (which I am just starting to learn about) has been in the making for over a decade.  I find myself getting easily absorbed into their magical world.  Erin Morgenstern will be at the Texas Book Festival and Book People will be holding a book signing on October 20.

It has been a while since I have read two books that I absolutely love (so far) at the same time.  I am so excited that when I finish The Night Circus, The Winter Sea will be waiting for me.

  1. I’m reading Among Others by Jo Walton and The Secret of the White Rose by Stephanie Pintoff (I really liked Pintoff’s In the Shadow of Gotham). I’m enjoying both of these.

Really want to read The Night Circus!
