Trough Water Lemonade Recipe

Don’t be afraid – this Trough Water Lemonade is made with purified water and fresh squeezed lemons.  It is a must for your Water for Elephants book club party.  I ended up tripling this recipe to make 6 quarts so I could serve it in my lemonade jar.

Inspired by Water for Elephants

Prep Time:  5 minutes     Makes 2 quarts

Fresh Squeezed Lemonade

Ingredients

  • 1 cup fresh squeezed lemon juice, 6-8 lemons
  • 6 1/2  cups water
  • 1 cup sugar
  • Lemon slices

Instructions

  1. Roll lemons on counter while applying pressure.  Cut lemons in half.  Using a citrus juicer, squeeze the lemons until you have 1 cup of juice.  Pour into your pitcher.
  2. Add water and sugar.  Stir until sugar is dissolved.
  3. Add ice  and lemon slices.
