Tea and bourbon … about as Southern as one can get!

Prep time: 10 minutes | Freeze time:  8 hours | Serves: 8-10

frozen drink recipe, lime wedge, bourbon drinks

  • 2 cups boiling water
  • 4 regular-size tea bags
  • 1 cup sugar
  • 2 cups of bourbon
  • 6 cups water
  • 1 egg
  • 1/2 cup whole milk
  • 1 12-ounce can frozen orange juice, thawed
  • 1 12-ounce can frozen lemonade, thawed

  1. Bring 2 cups of water to boil and steep tea bags for 5 minutes.  Remove tea bags and squeeze gently into the water.  Discard tea bags.
  2. Add sugar to tea, stirring until dissolved.   Add remaining ingredients, mixing until well combined and all juices completely melted.
  3. Cover and freeze 8 hours.  Slushy bourbon tea can be spooned into cups and served straight or with a lemon-lime carbonated drink such as 7-Up or Sprite.
