Instant Chai Tea Recipe
I found this recipe on Allrecipes.com and with 5 stars and over 650 ratings I had to give it a try. I did decrease the amount of sugar compared to the original recipe and added a pinch of nutmeg (not sure if you would even be able to taste it in this recipe, but I love the smell of it!) My husband went to the store for me and unfortunately I did not specify powdered when I asked him to get some French vanilla creamer, so I had to use what I had on hand which was almond creme. It was fabulous. This is a recipe I will continue to tweak, trying different spices and creamers.

Prep: 15 minutes Servings: 36

Ingredients
- 1 cup nonfat dry milk
- 1 cup powdered non-dairy creamer
- 1 cup flavored powdered non-dairy creamer
- 1 1/2 cups white sugar
- 1 1/2 cups unsweetened instant tea
- 2 teaspoons ground ginger
- 2 teaspoons ground cinnamon
- 1 teaspoon ground cloves
- 1 teaspoon ground cardamom
- Pinch of nutmeg
Instructions
- In a large bowl combine all the ingredients. In a blender, food processor or coffee grinder, grind the mixture in batches until finely ground.
- Stir desired amount into a mug of hot water. I found I had to play around with the amount of mixture to add to the hot water. For me, 2 tablespoons in a small mug and 3 tablespoons in a large mug was perfect!

Krups Coffee Grinder from Amazon |
When I need to grind anything I love the efficiency of a coffee grinder. You need to do this recipe in several batches, but I find that it does an excellent job and is so easy to clean up. I actually have 2 coffee grinders…one for coffee and one for everything else. This one is my favorite. |
