Creamy Blue Cheese Dip Recipe

This is my favorite dip to serve with corn chips-the bold flavor of the blue cheese and the salty corn chips are the perfect combination.  It also makes a great hamburger spread.

Prep Time:  5 minutes | Chill Time:  1 hour | Servings:  8

Blue Cheese Dip

  • 1/2 cup onion, finely chopped
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • 1/3 cup real mayonnaise
  • 1/2 cup sour cream
  • 2 ounces crumbled blue cheese
  • 1/4 teaspoon salt
  • Pinch cayenne pepper
  • 1 teaspoon chopped chives

  1. Heat skillet over medium high heat.  Add butter and onions.  Saute for 4 minutes, just when you begin to notice onions are browning.  Remove from heat and set aside to cool.
  2. Combine mayonnaise, sour cream, blue cheese, salt and cayenne pepper,  mix well.  Cover and refrigerate for 1 hour to allow flavors to meld.
  3. Garnish with chopped chives and serve with your favorite chips.
