As a child, my family of 11 (meet 2 of my siblings) lived in a small 4 bedroom house.  I always appreciated the escape a book could give me. Later, as I focused on my education, followed by marriage, kids and career, sitting down and reading a book seemed like a luxury. It didn’t help that the minute I sat down, I fell asleep. For the first book club, I bought the book but did not even open it. As I sat there watching my sisters as they laughed and were moved to tears, I felt myself being drawn deeper into the story. My childhood love of books was rekindled.   This site was born shortly thereafter.  We have so much fun planning our book club parties and wanted to share our ideas with our readers.

I have been an avid reader since childhood.
I cannot imagine my life without books!
I am also an enthusiastic baker, having spent countless childhood hours in the kitchen with mom mixing, beating, whipping, kneading dough after dough after dough.
I can’t imagine my life without dough!
Alas! I still can’t bake a better brownie than mom, but I’m not giving up!
